- Strephon Says 19 Tao of Now Desire
Desire: How can you desire what you do not have? When in desire do you not lose what you do have. Five minutes of inspiration from philosopher, Strephon Kaplan-Williams
***
Hello.
Strephon is desiring here to talk with you about something important to all of us. It is called desire.
You cannot desire what you desire.
Desiring, you are lost to desire.
We desire what we cannot have. When do we desire what we already have?
Shrink your perspective then. Narrow yourself down to desiring what you already have. Is this not a possibility?
For if you have something, why desire it?
We desire only what we do not have.
If you do not have something, then why desire it, why covet it, why want at all what you do not have?
You cannot have what you do not have.
You only have what you do now have. Nothing more. Nothing less. Why when you have something do you desire more or different from what you do now have?
First limit desire.
Do not desire what you do not have.
Do not possess what you do have and want more of the same or different from what you do now have.
This is why the religions often make something of desire.
This is why the religions aspire to desire-less being.
Being in desire you cannot have what you do not have.
Being in desire you lose what you do have because you are in desire for what you do not have.
Being in desire you are not desire-less. You are in a fallacy of aspiring to what does not exist for you.
Thus do you put yourself into profound non-existence even while you still have existence.
Is this not death? Is this not nothingness?
To desire what you do not have so that you lose the focus and involvement with what you do have?
Life is not what you do not have but what you do have, is it not?
How can you desire what you do not have?
How can you desire what does not exist for you?
Why waste your energy on what is not experientially real for you now?
Why fix your eyes on something that is unapproachable, the future that is not yet manifest or under your control?
Become desire-less by only focusing on what is you now, what is your life, your person-hood, your being.
Desiring we are desire.
Desire-less we are desire-less.
Without desire we are present to being.
Desire-less we are desire.
Desire without being.
Nothingness without void.
Being without desire.
This is our aspiration,
Our only hope.
Desiring, we cease desiring.
Without desire we are only now.
Being only now we have no later.
Without later we are only now.
Without desire we are only being.
This is Strephon Kaplan-Williams in being this 13th day of June, 2006
